Cost Accountant
The Client:
Our client is a cutting-edge biotechnology company that focuses on the research,
development, and marketing of new therapeutic products aimed at treating blood
disorders. This is the Headquarters location for a publicly traded company with
additional subsidiary locations in the United States and abroad.
Responsibilities:
This individual
will be responsible for construction project expense tracking and analysis, capital
expenditures and timely completion of assets under
construction, work with manufacturing management in development and maintenance
of bills of material (BOMs). He/she will perform ongoing surveillance, reporting
and adjustment of standard costs, as well as development of budgets, forecasts
and estimates for production expenses, global COGS reconciliation and elimination
of internal profits held in inventories, preparation of weekly COGS and inventory
reports, documentation of allocation methods for indirect manufacturing expenses,
monthly expense accruals and prepayments for manufacturing facility, ongoing analysis
of inventory components, e.g. inventory in transit, goods received, scrapping,
write-offs etc, perform inventory cycle counts in cooperation with external and
internal audit, assist in identification and documentation of controls for new
or revised business processes as needed.
Key Selection Criteria:
The successful candidate
will possess a minimum bachelor's level education in finance or accounting (advanced
degree or CMA a plus) combined with 10 years progressive experience in a manufacturing
environment and SAP R/3.
